Disability Hoist Hire
Those with disabilities want to live their lives to the fullest, but that can be very difficult. This is especially true if you are forced to live with a caretaker because you are unable to move from place to place without help.
But it can be incredibly frustrating to have to have help getting out of bed, out of a chair, or even into the bath or the toilet. Is there any solution, or are you going to be stuck depending on others for your entire life? Well, while anyone with a disability may need to call on help every now and then, a disability hoist can help bring you more independence.
A disability hoist is easily capable of lifting a person out of the bath, out of bed, or out of a wheelchair or off a powered scooter. While it’s not a complete solution to independence, it will help greatly. One of the main reasons someone installs a disability hoist or two in their homes is when they need some freedom to move around when others are not there. It can be impossible to have a healthcare assistant or family member around all the time. But what do you do if you can’t get up and need to? Well, if you have a disability hoist, all you need to do is get into the hammock or sling. This may be difficult for some, but many people have found that they are able to shift themselves into the sling without too much difficulty. Then all you have to do is activate it. The hoist will lift you up, and then move sideways until you are over your destination. Then lower it down, slip the sling out from under you and you’re ready to go.
When it comes to hiring a disability hoist, there are several things you should know. First of all, many disability hoist hire companies do allow you to test out the hoist for a short time. This way, you’ll be able to see if it’s really going to be an option for you. Some people find that they simply don’t like using a hoist, while others love the feeling of independence it can bring. One of the downsides to this, though, is that installing a disability hoist does mean attaching it to your wall or ceiling. If you have it removed, you’ll obviously still see some evidence of where it was mounted. You will also have some limits on where you can mount your hoist. It will need to be attached to a load bearing wall or a part of the ceiling that is strong enough to hold the equipment and you.
If you’re interested in a disability hoist, visit a hoist hire company and look at the various options. You may not find any that really feel right for you, but you may find a great disability hoist that will give you some degree of freedom. You never really know until you see what’s available.
